Missing Editors (SWOOP for SharePoint)

The report on missing editors looks at the person who last modified the page (or news item) and checks whether they still have an active M365 account.

If the person that last modified the page is no longer active, the page will appear in the report along with the number of visitors, visits and health score.  We also display the date the page was last modified.

We specifically ignore the person who created the page for the following reasons

  • Pages may have been created by a central team, such as IT, and therefore aren't accountable for the content of the page.
  • They may have left the organisation.
  • They may have moved to a different part of the business and no longer have responsibility for the page.
  • If they have been the person that maintains the page, they will be logged as the person who last modified the page.
  • There are pages that are created by the system, so do not have an M365 account associated with the "created by" field.

How the Missing Editors impact the Health Score

If the person who last modified the page has an is active account on M365, then the Quality aspect of the Health Score will show "No missing editor" and the score is "Great".

If the last person who modified the page does not have an active account on M365, but the person who first created the page does, then the Quality aspect of the Health Score will show "Person who last modified is not active but creator is still active" and "OK".

If the last person who modified the page does NOT have an active M365 account and neither does the person who first created the page, then the Quality aspect of the Health Score will show "No authors found" and the score is "Poor".
